How recommended companies are chosen
When you post a project, we may recommend a few companies that offer the service you need and cover your area. This is how we choose them.
When a customer posts a project, we may recommend a small number of companies straight away. They appear on the customer's project page under "Recommended for your project", each with an "Ask for a quote" button.
How we choose them
- We look at companies that offer the service the customer needs and cover the project's area.
- Every Featured company (a paid option) gets a place first, nearest first.
- The remaining places go to the nearest other companies.
- Our team may also change the list.
- Premier doesn't affect the choice.
What a recommendation means
- A recommendation isn't a check of a company's work, so compare profiles, reviews and quotes before you decide.
- Asking for a quote is free. We tell the company you'd like a quote. If it takes on your enquiry, it appears under "Interested in your project" and can contact you in the way you chose in your enquiry.
- Recommendations aren't exclusive. Other companies can still take on the enquiry.
For professionals
- Only companies with an active account, a verified mobile number and email address, and a company name on their profile can be recommended.
- Companies that have said they aren't taking on new projects, or that have dismissed the lead, aren't chosen automatically.
- A lead you've been recommended for is marked "Recommended to the customer" in your workspace. If the customer asks you for a quote, we let you know. You still buy the lead as normal to see the customer's details and reply.
