Privacy notice
Last updated: 07/10/2026
This notice explains what personal information Archi Quote Compare collects, how we use it, who we share it with and your rights. It applies to customers, professionals and anyone who visits our website.
1. Who we are
Archi Quote Compare is a trading name of Shoutify Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15853392. Our registered office is 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. We're the "controller" of your personal information, which means we decide how it's used.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@archiquotecompare.com.
2. What we collect
Everyone with an account
- Your name, email address, mobile number and password (stored in a form we can't read), or your Google or Apple sign-in details if you use them.
- Confirmation that you've verified your mobile number and email address, when, and the codes and links we send you for this (stored in a coded form we can't read back).
- The version of our Terms of Use you agreed to, and when.
- Your settings, such as notification preferences.
- Messages (including voice messages), files and appointments you exchange with other users, including in project groups, and requests you send to our support team.
Customers
- Your project enquiries: the type of work, the property address and postcode, your answers, description, budget, timescale, files and photos, and how and when you'd like to be contacted.
- For each enquiry, whether the mobile number and email address you gave for it have been confirmed, and when. Professionals see a "verified" tick on an enquiry whose mobile number is confirmed. To stop misuse of the codes we send, we also keep how many enquiries and codes came from your internet address and browser (in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into them) for a day.
- Quotes you receive, which professionals you choose or decline, which professional you asked for a quote from their public profile, and reviews you write (with any photos you add).
Professionals
- Your business details: business name, address, company number, website, services and areas you cover, and your profile, photos and portfolio.
- Credentials, qualifications, insurance and verification documents you send us.
- Leads you buy, quotes you send, and responses to reviews.
- Payment records: credit purchases, subscriptions, Featured periods and automatic top-up settings. Stripe holds your card details; we only see the card type, last four digits and expiry date.
- Links you add to your business's pages on Google, Facebook, Yell or Yelp. For Google, we also keep which business Google found for the link (its name, address and Google's reference for it).
Referrals
If you take part in our referral scheme: who you referred and, if you choose to be paid by bank transfer, your bank details, which we store encrypted.
Questions you ask our assistant
If you ask the assistant on our website a question, we keep the question (with email addresses, phone numbers, postcodes, links and long numbers removed), its answer and whether you found it helpful. If you ask to talk to our team, we pass the conversation and the contact details you give us to our support team.
When you use our website
Technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you use. We keep this to keep the service secure and working.
If you came to us from one of our adverts, we also keep which advert it was: the advertising platform, the campaign and advert named in the link, the click reference the platform adds to the link, the page you arrived on, and whether you accepted or declined advertising cookies. This is saved with your enquiry if you send one.
- if you arrive from one of our adverts: the page you land on, the advert's tags (which campaign and advert) and the type of device (phone, tablet or computer), as daily totals only — no cookie, no internet address and nothing that identifies you.
3. How we use it, and why we're allowed to
We use your information to:
- run your account and the marketplace: matching enquiries with professionals, sharing enquiries with professionals who buy them, messaging, quotes, reviews and support. The law allows this because it's needed for our contract with you.
- publish professionals' profiles, and the reviews customers write about them, on our website, where anyone can see them and search engines can show them in their results. For professionals, this is needed for our contract with you, and you can hide your profile at any time. For reviewers, it's in our legitimate interests and those of people choosing a professional; we only show your first name and the first letter of your last name, and you can object, as explained in section 6.
- take payments, send receipts and keep financial records. This is needed for our contract with you and to meet our legal obligations, for example tax law.
- verify phone numbers and email addresses, prevent fraud and misuse, keep the service secure and enforce our terms. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
- answer questions you ask our assistant, using our help articles. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
- show a professional's Google rating and reviews, and reviews from other websites the professional asks us to add. This is in our legitimate interests.
- if a professional asks you for a review, use your email address to send the request, confirm the review is yours and stop duplicates. This is in our legitimate interests and the professional's. Every request has a link to stop them.
- let staff we allow read messages and project groups when it's needed to help you, settle a dispute or look into a report of misuse. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
- post an enquiry for you when you ask our team to, for example on the phone. This is needed for our contract with you.
- send you service messages, such as verification codes, reminders to verify your mobile number and email address (by text and email, during the day, for a day after you send an enquiry or create an account), receipts, notifications about your projects and leads, and reminders to complete your profile, by email, in the app, and by text or WhatsApp as you choose in your settings. These are part of the service.
- tell professionals about our paid options, such as Premier and Featured. This is in our legitimate interests. You can switch these messages off at any time in your notification settings, and every email has a link to do so.
- improve Archi Quote Compare, using mostly anonymised or totalled information. This is in our legitimate interests.
- with your consent, measure our adverts: see which of our adverts bring people to the website and whether they send an enquiry, and, when you send an enquiry, send our advertising partners a coded (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number so they can match the enquiry to the advert you came from. The law allows this because you've consented, and you can say no or change your mind at any time (see section 7).
- meet legal requirements and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to advertise other companies' products or services. Our advertising partners only receive what section 4 describes, and only if you accept advertising cookies.
4. Who we share it with
Professionals: professionals who offer the service you need see a summary of your enquiry and its approximate location. They're usually companies that work in your area, but our team may also offer your enquiry to companies in other areas. If you ask a professional for a quote from their public profile, that professional also sees the summary, even if they don't usually cover your service or area. When a professional shows interest in your enquiry, or our team passes it to them, they see the full details, your files and your name, phone number, email address and property address. You agree to this when you send the enquiry. We also send that professional your name, phone number, email address and the project's postcode by text or WhatsApp, so they can contact you quickly.
Professionals can connect their own business tools, such as a CRM or accounting app, to Archi Quote Compare. The details of an enquiry they've bought can then be copied into those tools. They're responsible for how they use them there.
Everyone: professionals' profiles, portfolios, reviews and badges are public. Anyone can see them on our website, and search engines such as Google may show them in their results. A professional's phone number, email address, website and street address are never shown publicly. Reviews show the reviewer's first name and the first letter of their last name, never their full name or contact details. Before we show a photo publicly (a professional's logo or portfolio, or a photo added to a review), we remove the hidden information stored in the file, such as the location where it was taken and details of the camera.
Customers: customers also see the details professionals share in messages and quotes.
Our service providers, who process information for us under contract:
- Stripe (payments)
- Twilio (text messages, WhatsApp messages and phone verification)
- WhatsApp, run by Meta (messages on WhatsApp: to people who choose WhatsApp, including enquiry details we send to a professional who chose it)
- our email provider (sending emails)
- our hosting provider (hosting our website and data)
- Google and Apple (if you sign in with them)
- Ideal Postcodes (finding addresses from postcodes)
- your browser's notification service, such as Google's or Apple's, if you turn on notifications on your device (the notifications are encrypted, so it can't read them)
- our AI provider (answering questions you ask our assistant: we send it the question, with contact details removed, and our help articles)
- Google Maps Platform (showing a professional's Google rating and reviews: we send Google the professional's business, never information about the person looking)
- the business tools we use to run Archi Quote Compare, such as CRM, project management, automation and accounting apps (to keep records of our customers, professionals, enquiries, payments and support cases).
Our advertising partners, only if you accept advertising cookies (section 7). They are the companies whose adverts we use, and only the ones named on the cookie bar at the time:
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (Facebook and Instagram)
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Ads and Google Analytics)
- TikTok Technology Ltd (TikTok)
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd (Microsoft Advertising, including Bing).
What they receive: that someone visited, which kind of page (for example a page about loft conversions), that an enquiry was started and that one was sent, the type of service it's for, the click reference their own advert added to the link, and the identifier in their cookie. When you send an enquiry, we also send Meta a coded (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number, together with your internet address and browser type, so it can match the enquiry to the advert; the code can't be turned back into your details by anyone who doesn't already have them. They never receive your name, address, the details of your project, your files or anything you wrote. Each partner uses this to report on our adverts and to show our adverts to people more likely to be interested, under its own privacy notice, which also explains how to object to it.
We also share information with:
- professional advisers, such as our accountants and lawyers
- authorities, such as the police or HMRC, when the law requires it or to prevent fraud
- a buyer of our business, if we sell or reorganise it, who would have to use your information in the same way.
Some of our providers and advertising partners, such as Stripe, Twilio, WhatsApp, Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft, our AI provider and our business tools, may process information outside the UK, for example in the USA. When they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by contracts approved for this purpose.
When you look at a map on a lead or a project, your browser loads it from OpenStreetMap, which receives your internet address and the area shown. We don't send it anything else about you.
5. How long we keep it
- Your account information: while your account is open.
- After an account is closed: we keep its details for up to 6 years, so we can deal with questions, complaints, disputes and our legal obligations, and reopen it if you ask. After that, or within one month if you ask us to delete them, we remove or anonymise personal details, except those we need to keep: payment and financial records for 6 years for tax and accounting law, and records of messages, reviews and reports for up to 2 years in case of complaints, disputes or fraud.
- Verification codes: up to 24 hours (codes our text provider sends last about 10 minutes). Email verification links: up to 7 days, and they only work once. The scrambled counts we keep to stop misuse of the codes: a day. Security logs: up to 12 months.
- Questions you ask our assistant: 180 days.
- Review requests a professional asked us to send: 12 months. A review you didn't confirm: 7 days. If you ask us to stop review requests, we keep a coded version of your email address so we don't send you any more.
- Enquiries you started but didn't send are kept only in your browser.
- Public profiles: removed from our website as soon as a professional hides their profile, or their account is suspended or closed. Search engines may keep showing an old copy until they next visit the page.
- Advertising cookies (only if you accept them): Meta's _fbp and Google's _gcl_au last up to 90 days; Meta's _fbc, Google's _gcl_aw and _gcl_dc, TikTok's _ttp and Microsoft's _uetvid up to 13 months; Google Analytics' _ga up to 2 years; Microsoft's _uetsid until you close your browser. Apple's and other browsers often delete them sooner. Your cookie choice is kept in your browser until you change it. To clear them, choose "Cookie choices" at the bottom of this notice (and of every page) and then "Reject" (we delete the ones we set), or clear cookies in your browser's settings.
- Which advert an enquiry came from: as long as the enquiry (see "After an account is closed" above).
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information, where we don't need to keep it
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it, including for marketing (we'll always stop marketing when asked)
- ask us to send your information to you or another organisation in a common format
- withdraw consent where we rely on it (for advertising cookies, choose "Cookie choices" at the bottom of this notice or of any page).
To use any of these rights, contact us at info@archiquotecompare.com. We'll reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Cookies and your browser
We use cookies that are essential to run the website: to keep you signed in, to protect forms from being submitted by other websites, and to remember that you've agreed to our Terms of Use. These don't need your consent.
We also use advertising cookies from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, TikTok and Microsoft, but only if you accept them. They tell us which of our adverts brought you here and whether you sent an enquiry, so we can see which adverts work and show our adverts to people more likely to be interested. Nothing is set until you say yes — "Accept" on the cookie bar, "OK" on the small strip on a phone, or "That's fine" on the optional question after you send an enquiry. Saying no, or making no choice, means we don't load them, and your choice never changes your enquiry or how professionals contact you.
You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie choices" at the bottom of this notice and of every page. Choosing no there deletes the advertising cookies we set and stops them being set again. Section 4 says what each partner receives, and section 5 how long the cookies last.
Separately, and without any cookie, we count how many people arrive from each of our adverts: when you land on a page from an advert's link, your browser tells our server the page, the advert's tags and whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer. We don't record your internet address, your browser, where you came from or anything about you, we keep only daily totals, and nothing is sent to the advertising companies. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in knowing which adverts bring visitors.
When you create an account or send an enquiry, we ask you to agree to our Terms of Use and to confirm you've read this notice. We keep a record of that agreement (the version you agreed to, the date and time, your browser type and a scrambled form of your internet address that can't be turned back into it), so we can show when it was given.
We also store some things in your browser so the site works as you'd expect, such as a project enquiry you haven't finished yet, your cookie choice, or your conversation with our assistant until you close the tab. You can clear these in your browser settings.
8. Children
Archi Quote Compare is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information about children.
9. Changes to this notice
We'll update this notice when we change how we use personal information. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll tell account holders about important changes.
